Evolution of Team Work
Small working groups have been with us since the dawn of time and a key factor that has made humans the dominate species on this planet. Our brains are still wired like our ancestors on the Serengeti, but our work is very different. This talk will compare and contrast team work throughout human history to reveal how to be more effective in today’s complex team environment by returning focus to age-old basics proven by the test of time, neuroscience and cognitive behavioral research.
HI, I'm Patty Townsend, a pragmatic optimist, continuous improvement warrior, and corporate social worker. Over the past 22 years in Insurance, I have been a keen observer of many organizational transformation initiatives taking place in the insurance, telecom and financial services industries, sometimes as the champion of change and other times as the reluctant participant. In that time I have witnessed how hearts and minds of employees are won and lost. My experiences have made me passionate about the Agile Manifesto and Lean Six Sigma as the means for making this a better world, one project team at a time.
