Join us Thursday January 11 as we resume our All Things Open RTP meetup series!

We'll feature two (2) very popular topics in the open source space at the moment - security and encryption & automation and Anisble - and two amazing world-class speakers.

The speakers and talks to be featured include:

1. What Every Software Engineer Should Know About Security and Encryption
Miki Rezentes, Tanium
Miki Rezentes works as a software engineer for Tanium. Her years as a software engineer were preceded by many years of teaching upper level math. She loves solving problems and learning new languages. She enjoys mentoring and volunteers with Rails Bridge. One past coworker lovingly described her as, “supreme product expert and resident smartass.” She has confidence that other coworkers agree with at least half of that statement. Her work on R2D2 made her the go to person for encryption on her team. One day, she hopes to acquire a little Orphan Annie decoder ring.

2. Automation & Ansible
Greg Dekoenigsberg, Ansible
Greg DeKoenigsberg is the Vice President of Community for Ansible, where he leads the company's relationship with the broader open source community. Greg brings to Ansible over a decade of open source product and community leadership, with the majority of this time spent building and leading communities for open source leader Red Hat. While at Red Hat, Greg served in various community leadership roles, including senior community architect, leader of the Fedora project, chair of the first Fedora Project Board, and Red Hat community liaison with the One Laptop Per Child project. More recently, Greg led community and product efforts for open source cloud pioneer Eucalyptus Systems.

In addition to presentations the All Things Open team will be making major 2018 announcements and giving away a lot of awesome swag.

Doors open and networking starts at 6:00 pm ET, programming starts at 6:30 pm ET sharp. Food and beverages will be served, so come hungry and ready to learn.

*Please note the event will take place in the Cannon Room at the brand new HQCapitalClub (https://www.hqcapitalclub.com/the-cannon-room) location overlooking downtown Raleigh. The venue is amazing and a must-see!
