This month, we will be welcoming newcomers to Rust. Invite your coworkers and your friends. We will give a brief introduction to Rust, explaining why it exists, what it's good for, and why you might want to use it, and then get hands-on with some guided project work. Participants will leave having installed Rust on their laptop of choice (Linux, Mac, or Windows), installed rust packages, and written their first Rust crate.

Participants coming with a little bit of experience with Rust will have the opportunity to share projects they are working on, get more experienced rustaceans to review their code, resolve lifetime issues, and get advice on rustic best practices.

About Triangle Rustaceans

We are the Triangle Rustaceans, a group of Triangle-area Rust aficionados of all levels of skill and experience. The activity for this month's meeting has not yet been determined.

Meetings will be on the 4th Monday of every month, at 7pm.

All people attending Triangle Rustacean events agree to abide by the Rust Code of Conduct. (https://www.rust-lang.org/en-US/conduct.html)

Location & Parking

We are hosted by Caktus Group, located at 108 Morris St. next to Bullseye Bikes in downtown Durham. If you have trouble finding free on-street parking, Caktus recommends using the Durham Centre parking garage, with entrances on Morris St. and W. Morgan St. The evening price in the parking garage appears to be a minimal $1.50.
