We're back just in time for our August meeting. We will be meeting in the Alan Turing classroom (curved glass wall) at the Iron Yard in Durham. This is in the basement of the East building of the American Tobacco Warehouse complex (the one with the water tower in the middle).
At our August meeting Chuck Jaeger will demonstrate “Rubberduck”, a very active open-source COM add-in project that integrates with the Visual Basic Editor. During this presentation, we will look at the following features added by this tool:
- Unit testing
- Source code integration with git
NOTE: Many of the concepts and materials from this presentation are re-used from an excellent presentation at the TRINUG Developer Craftsmanship meetup given by Derick Linkous on Nov 30, 2016. The key differences will be that we will be using VBA and Excel for coding instead of C# and Visual Studio. If time allows, we will demonstrate how the unit testing could expand from a rock-paper-scissors winner determination tool, to rock-paper-scissors-lizard-Spock.
Slides and files will be hosted on https://github.com/chuckthenerd/rubberduckvba
Doors open at 6:00 PM with pizza and social conversations.
The meeting starts at 6:30 with a Stump-the-Chumps session, followed by Chuck's presentation.----
