The data used in statistical analysis takes many shapes and can be used for various purposes, but some basic characteristics always apply. Understanding these characteristics is a starting point for proper analysis. This talk will describe some commonly known distributions and show how they relate to the processes that produce them.

Bruce Silberman holds a MS in Computer Science and works for an e-commerce company. Previously he developed modeling and analysis software for clinical assays.
