Join TISQA and WITA at our next joint meetup where Senior Business Analyst Alani Perry will teach some collaborative techniques to help us better identify and answer our project Whats, Whys, and Hows.
On software projects, as with most things in life, there is benefit in understanding What, Why and How.
What problem are we solving? What benefit does our software solution bring?
Why are we building this solution this way? Why are we building it at all?
How do these elements impact each other? How do these components relate?
Often, we desire to ask these questions to help us understand and evaluate a proposed solution. Often, we desire to ask these questions to chart our course from A to B-- from identified need to working software that services that need.
However, just as often when we desire to ask these question--we don’t. Perhaps its because we doubt what is the best approach, or we don't know why we might feel disempowered to ask, or we're unaware of how to go about getting answers?
It doesn't have to be this way. There are tools and techniques that can help technologists on software project drive at these answers.
Alani Perry is a Senior Business Systems Analyst at IQVIA and Co-lead of Women in Tech Allies. She has 10 years of BA experience and is passionate about technology and problem solving through inclusive collaboration.
