Come out to STEAM Junction in Historic Downtown Burlington for the April Open Meeting of the Alamance Makers Guild!
Our special guest speaker/topic for March is Brett King here to talk about all things Cosplay. Brett is a celebrated steampunk maker, cosplayer, and event organizer. His talk will be an entertaining and informative deep-dive on his latest cosplay, a wizard costume that won “Best Props” at the Dragon Con Costuming Contest! Creating the costume required a wide variety of skills, materials, and techniques, and Brett will give the details on how everything was put together.
Also on the agenda for April:
* Show-N-Tell: Bring in YOUR projects to show off and discuss your news with the group. Projects can be completed, in progress, or just ideas. Not convenient to physically bring in? Bring in photos or video and show on the big screen.
* Membership Drive: Become a dues paying member of the Alamance Makers Guild and help support the costs of the upcoming Maker Faire Burlington Event.
* Updates and News about the Alamance Makers Guild and news from our Maker Community.
* Updates on Maker Faire Burlington 2019 (Attend, Exhibit, Volunteer!)
As always, our open meetings are free, family friendly, and open to anyone. Adults, families, teens, and accompanied older children are welcome and encouraged (Great opportunity to expose youth to STEM fields and skills!) Please RSVP via Meetup, Facebook, or Eventbrite to show your support. Please share this event via social media and through your personal networks. Help us grow!
While you are downtown: Consider supporting locally owned downtown businesses! Grab dinner, Coffee, Ice Cream, or a Snack, check out artwork, visit stores, spend a few dollars with local merchants! Get In Dtown Btown!
Hope to see as many of you at this meeting as possible!----
